DOC CONFERENCE Maverick Conversation: A Conversation with Barbara Kopple

Oscar-winning director Barbara Kopple is acclaimed for her observational storytelling in films from Harlan County, USA (1976) to Miss Sharon Jones! (2015), both of which played at TIFF. Her newest work, Desert One, relies on different storytelling techniques of interview, archives, and animation. She’ll discuss the process of learning that happens over decades of working in documentary film.
